Hello! I’m Filip Hostynek, also known as HostasBuilds. I’m a LEGO® MOC designer and enthusiast, with a passion for creating MOC (My Own Creation) models. This small corner of the internet is where I share my designs, instructions, and the journey that led me back to LEGO® after nearly two decades away.
By day, I work as a film colorist, blending colors and creating atmospheres that shape the visual stories of film. For me, LEGO® is more than just a hobby—it’s a way to express creativity, connect with others, and bring new ideas to life, brick by brick.
My LEGO® Story
❤️ Rediscovering a Childhood Passion
Growing up, LEGO® was my world. I’d spend hours building towns, spaceships, and anything my imagination could conjure. But like many childhood hobbies, it faded away as I grew older, and by age 11, my LEGO® bricks were tucked away, collecting dust.
Almost 20 years later, on a whim, I bought a LEGO® model - 21325 LEGO® Ideas Medieval Blacksmith. I wanted a piece of my childhood, something to remind me of simpler days. But as I clicked those first bricks together, something sparked inside me. I wasn’t just building a set; I was reconnecting with a part of myself I thought I'd outgrown. Before I knew it, I was designing my own models, pouring hours into creations, and participating in the Bricklink Designer Program. What began as nostalgia turned into a full-blown passion.
